Direct cash cattle trade activity is quiet to start the week with buyers and sellers busy taking inventory. Bids and asking prices have yet to be established. If this week follows recent trends, business could get underway as early as Tuesday. Last week’s trade started on Tuesday and came in waves throughout the rest of the week. South live deals were mostly at $119, fully steady with the prior week’s weighted averages. Dressed business was mostly $190 to $191, generally steady to $1 lower than the previous week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska.
