Wisconsin’s farmers made a lot of field progress with dry soils, above-normal temperatures, and limited rain. USDA reporters say just over four-and-a-half days were suitable for fieldwork through Sunday as isolated rains fell throughout the state.
Hay and pasture conditions all improved with 69% of hay in good to excellent condition, up four points, and pastures up seven points to 65% good to excellent condition. Many farmers were harvesting first crop hay last week, especially in the southern part of the state.
