An active, west-to-east storm track across the country will result in a chance of showers and thunderstorms across the Northwest, the Plains, the Midwest, and the mid-Atlantic. Five-day rainfall totals could reach 1 to 3 inches or more across the central and southern Plains and the lower Midwest. Meanwhile, significant precipitation will bypass areas along the Canadian border, from the northern Plains to northern New England. Mostly dry weather will also prevail during the next 5 days in the lower Southeast and from California to the central and southern Rockies.
