Corn emerged in an Illinois field this same week in 2019
Corn and soybeans across Illinois are emerging in a timely fashion putting this year’s crops ahead of the five-year average.
The USDA reports as of Sunday 86% of corn had emerged compared to 72% on average and 74% of soybeans had sprouted compared to the average 46%.
Corn planting has reached 95% complete with a crop rating of 80% good to excellent, up 9 percentage points on the week.
