Wisconsin had cooler weather last week, with some frost damage to newly-emerged crops.  The USDA reporters say just over four days were suitable for fieldwork, but some areas like Portage and Wood counties had over 2 inches of rain.  There were also severe storms with hail reported in northern Wisconsin and even some snow in the western part of the state.

Most corn is planted and 77% has emerged.  Wisconsin’s corn is about nine days ahead of the five-year average.
