The USDA says Minnesota farmers spent the past week cutting hay, replanting crops, and applying herbicides.
According to the latest weekly crop report, corn emergence reached 96 percent, with nearly 70 percent of the acreage in good to excellent condition.
Soybean emergence is 93 percent, which is more than a week ahead of the five-year average. Seventy percent of Minnesota’s soybean crop is rated good to excellent.
Spring wheat development is about a week and-a-half ahead of normal, with 71 percent in the good to excellent category.
