Planting is nearly wrapped up for south central Kansas farmer Dennis Gruenbacher.

“Planting is pretty well done,” he says. “The only thing we’ll have is soybeans go into wheat stubble after wheat harvest which is about three weeks away.”

He tells Brownfield after not receiving rain from March 22 until May 14, conditions have improved.

“Some of our wheat suffered drought damage but the soybeans went in the ground good, and moisture looks good now because we received about three inches of rain in the last week,” he says.
