The National Pork Producers Council continues to champion U.S. inclusion in the Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership.

NPPC president Jen Sorenson says U.S. pork producers were dealt a major blow when President Trump withdrew from the Trans-Pacific Partnership shortly after taking office.

“That was the biggest missed opportunity that we had under the Trump Administration. When he backed out of TPP, hearts broke all over the U.S. pork industry.”

Speaking to Brownfield during the World Pork Expo in Des Moines, the communications director for Iowa Select Farms says NPPC fully supports the Biden administration reengaging with CP-TPP nations.
