U.S. Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack tells Brownfield one of the most valuable lessons he learned from his time at the U.S. Dairy Export Council is that trade is about presence.

“You have to have more people on the ground promoting, more partnerships with organizations in-country so you better understand the market, and you have to have more promotions,” he shares.

Vilsack says trade also needs to be diverse which he hopes to work on in his second stint as Secretary.
