Drought conditions have continued to worsen in many parts of the Corn Belt.

Northeast Nebraska farmer Anne Meis tells Brownfield the dry conditions have persisted nearly all spring. “We did receive about an 1.40 (inches) on Friday, June 11, but it’s time to start our irrigation pivots. A lot of them in the area have already started and this hot weather has certainly had an impact on the crops.”

The corn and soybean grower from Eglin says the weather has made it difficult to manage weed pressure.
