The USDA’s crop condition and progress report shows dry and hot weather slightly impacted Nebraska corn and soybeans this week.

The report says corn condition is rated 83 percent good-to-excellent down one percent from last week.

Logan Govier of Broken Bow tells Brownfield his corn is mostly in good shape. “Things are looking pretty good as long as we’re able to pump water on the dryland crop but with the cooler temps they look a little bit better they are running out of water and suffering a little bit.”

Soybeans are 83 percent rated good-to excellent, down four percent from last week.  Five percent of the crop has bloomed, which is 14 percent behind last year.
