Much drier weather allowed Tennessee farmers to get back in the fields. Farmers across the state have been harvesting wheat, planting soybeans, and catching up on post-emergent herbicide applications.
Corn is 9% silking and 81% rated good to excellent. Cotton planting is 97% complete with 26% squared and 65% rated good to excellent. Soybeans are 86% planted and 75% emerged, 80% of the crop is rated good to excellent. Fifty-three percent of the winter wheat crop has been harvested.
