The number of counties where Conservation Reserve Program emergency haying and grazing is allowed because of drought grew at the end of June. American Farm Bureau says more than 1-thousand counties were eligible as of June 24th.
The USDA uses the U.S. Drought Monitor to determine which counties are approved for emergency CRP haying and grazing. They must be in the “D-2” severe drought category.
