A South Dakota grower says it’s been a year of haves and have nots when it comes to the scattered rains in his drought-ridden state.
Reno Brueggeman grows corn and beans in east central South Dakota, north of Miller.
“One area might get an inch less than me. Fifteen miles got a nice 1.3 inch, and it was in about a five to 10 mile radius, and then the next guy, everything around that, didn’t get anything.”
And, he tells Brownfield, the forecast is hot and dry with a critical week ahead for corn which is showing great stress.
