Overall, Illinois crops are progressing well through weather variances across the state, but conditions dropped week over week.
The USDA reports as of Sunday half of the state’s corn crop is silking, up from 14% the week before and five percentage points ahead of the five-year average with 1% in the dough stage.
Nearly half of the soybean crop is blooming up from 22% the week before and compared to 29% on average.
