Strong demand for US beef and pork continues as exports set new value records in May.
US Meat Export Federation president and CEO Dan Halstrom says there was broad-based demand growth for beef and that is very encouraging. “Over 29,000 tons was a record for Korea,” he says. “Japan was up significantly and with Japan, we’ve been dealing with the safeguard in March and April and we finally saw some of that frozen product show up on those stats, which was good.
