Michigan agricultural groups are applauding the passage of a bill that gives commodity groups more flexibility to meet virtually.
HB 4603 amends the Open Meetings Act to allow for state ag boards to hold public meetings virtually for any reason.
Michigan Corn Growers Association president Randy Poll says it’s often difficult for farmers serving on boards to meet in-person meetings during times like planting and harvest and the bill will provide greater flexibility and transparency of action items.
