Widely scattered showers helped some of Wisconsin’s crops last week. USDA reporters say rainfall was spotty except for a band of thunderstorms between Tomah and Manitowoc. Topsoil and subsoil moisture remains more than 18% short and more than 6% very short.
Thirty-four percent of Wisconsin’s corn is silking, with 1% already in the dough stage. USDA reporters say 76% of the corn is in good to excellent shape.
Sixty-nine percent of soybeans are blooming with 28% setting pods. The crop condition is 72% good to excellent.
