Widely scattered showers helped some of Wisconsin’s crops last week.  USDA reporters say rainfall was spotty except for a band of thunderstorms between Tomah and Manitowoc.  Topsoil and subsoil moisture remains more than 18% short and more than 6% very short.

Thirty-four percent of Wisconsin’s corn is silking, with 1% already in the dough stage.  USDA reporters say 76% of the corn is in good to excellent shape.

Sixty-nine percent of soybeans are blooming with 28% setting pods.  The crop condition is 72% good to excellent.
