While forecasted storms will bring more drought relief to the Great Lakes region this week, Brownfield meteorologist Greg Soulje says it will come at a cost as farmers should expect derecho-like winds.
“Recall last August that event that came through Iowa, Illinois, Indiana and pointed southeast. This might not be as ferocious, but it is likely that while these rains will materialize through the upper Great Lakes region and far eastern Corn Belt some of those will likely contain hail and high winds.
