A week of warmer and drier conditions in Nebraska slowed corn and soybean growth across the state.

According to the USDA’s latest crop progress and condition report, corn condition ratings fell to 76 percent good-to-excellent condition, two percent less than last week with 84 percent silking.

Soybean condition ratings fell nine percent to 72 percent rated in good-to-excellent condition with 85 percent blooming – 11 percent ahead of the average.

Eighty-eight percent of the winter wheat has been harvested.
