Illinois crop conditions are holding steady as the calendar inches closer to harvest.
In the USDA’s first crop progress and condition report for the month of August corn conditions are unchanged from the week before at 68% good to excellent while soybeans improved three percentage points at 67% good to excellent.
Progress on both crops is within 5 percentage points of the five-year average with 96% of corn silking and 49% in the dough stage.
