During the next 5 days, mostly dry weather will cover large sections of the country, including the Plains, Midwest, and Far West. Meanwhile, showers associated with the Southwestern monsoon circulation will diminish in coverage and intensity—but will continue through mid-week in the Rockies and neighboring areas. Farther east, significant rain will fall from the central Gulf Coast region to the southern Atlantic Coast.
Five-day rainfall totals could reach 5 to 10 inches or more in the coastal Carolinas.
