Nebraska crop conditions were mixed last week as corn condition falls one percent while soybeans bounced back.
Northeast Nebraska farmer Jason Penke says his only complaint about his crops are insects in his soybeans. “I have seen some aphids. I’ve seen the been leaf beetle and I think our crops look really good for the most part. I would say everyone in our area is trying to protect what we could potentially have.”
The latest crop progress report from the USDA says 66 percent of soybeans have set pods with 80 percent of the crop rated good-to-excellent.
