Massachusetts-based AquaBounty Technologies has announced Pioneer, Ohio as the location for a $200 million large-scale genetically engineered salmon farm.
The land-based aquaculture company says the farm will be its first large-scale commercial facility, with an expected annual production capacity of 10,000 metric tons.
The company has a land-based fish farm in east central Indiana and began raising GE Atlantic salmon in 2019. That farm has an annual production capacity of 1,200 metric tons.
