A farmer in northeastern South Dakota says despite being dry in his area, his corn and beans are looking good.

Jason Frerichs tells Brownfield they were fortunate to get more than two inches of moisture during several rains in July. But, it was too late for his spring wheat harvest which is below average, “It was so hot in May in June and that took a toll on wheat. But our corn and soybeans look really good at this point.”

He says they’re starting to see a little stress in soybeans, “The soybeans are just more showing signs of protecting themselves.
