The Senate appropriations committee has approved a big USDA funding bill that includes $7 Billion dollars in disaster aid for farmers.
The package is one of three spending bills passed by the committee this week.
But Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell said the GOP won’t let those bills come up for a vote without a larger government spending deal.
The bill funding the USDA and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is more than $25-Billion dollars, an increase of two-and-a-half billion over the previous fiscal year.
