The USDA says hot and dry weather depleted soil moisture last week in Indiana.

Seventy-four percent of the state’s corn crop is in good to excellent condition. Ninety-six percent of corn is silking, and 52 percent is in the dough stage.

Seventy percent of soybeans are rated good to excellent. Ninety-one percent of soybeans are blooming, and 66 percent are setting pods.
