During the next few days, meaningful rain showers will be mostly confined to areas along and southeast of a line from Arizona to Wisconsin. Rainfall in several regions, mainly across the Southwest, Midwest, and mid-Atlantic, could total 1 to 3 inches or more. By week’s end, heavy showers may develop across the southern Atlantic region, as a potential tropical cyclone approaches Florida’s peninsula. Meanwhile, near- or above-normal temperatures will cover much of the country for the remainder of the week.
