Cattle producers are putting some weight behind a Product of the USA label.
Many cattle and farm groups are unsatisfied with the current “Product of the USA” labeling rules.
Kent Bacus, senior director of international trade and markets with NCBA says members have been working to find a solution. “When Secretary Vilsack was asked about country of origin labeling, he said “look bring forward a trade-compliant solution and I’m all ears” and that’s exactly what NCBA has done and it started with grassroots.”
Indiana cattle producer and the Region 1 vice president of policy Tim Schwab says Product of the USA labels aren’t clear.
