Corn and soybean condition ratings fell in Illinois last week, with warmer and wetter than normal conditions reported across the state.
As of Sunday, the USDA says 74% of Illinois’ corn crop is rated good to excellent, 5% less than last week, with 80% at the dough making stage, compared to the five-year average of 76%, and 27% at the dough stage, compared to 28% on average.
71% of soybeans are called good to excellent, down 7% on the week, with 96% of the crop blooming, compared to 95% normally in late August, and 80% at the pod setting stage, matching the usual rate.
