An active start to direct cash cattle trade.  Live deals in the South are at $122, $1 higher than last week’s weighted averages.  Asking prices are around $123 to $124 live in the South and $202 plus dressed in the North.  Look for more business to develop over the balance of the day.  There was a light to moderate trade that took place on Wednesday.  Deals in the North were at mostly $200 dressed, about $2 higher than the bulk of last week’s business and steady with the weighted average basis in Nebraska.
