The head of the Michigan Corn Growers Association says a drought early on has led to a strong, deep-rooted corn crop in the state.
Jim Zook tells Brownfield some regions hit with both frost and drought this season have struggled but corn overall is faring better than the last two years.
“We are seeing areas in the Southwest that maybe were hurt early on by the frosts as the populations are a little weaker than expected,” he says.
