A quiet start to the week for direct cash cattle trade activity.  Bids and asking prices have yet to be established as buyers and sellers have been busy taking inventory.  It’s likely significant trade volume will be delayed until midweek or later.  The bulk of last week’s business took place on Wednesday and Thursday with some scattered trade coming in on Friday.  Live deals were at mostly $200, $2 higher than the bulk of the previous week’s trade, but roughly steady with the weighted average basis in Nebraska.
