Beneficial rains and the harvest of small grains and silage highlighted another busy week for Minnesota farmers.

The latest USDA crop report says some areas of the state received above-normal precipitation.

However, topsoil moisture levels remain a concern with 82 percent rated short to very short.

Corn is being chopped for silage, and corn for grain reached 30 percent dented.  That’s on par with last year, and two days ahead of the five-year average.
