A slow start to Tuesday for direct cash cattle trade activity.  Some early asking prices have surfaced around $125 plus in the South and $202 dressed in the North.  There could be a little “start-up” business develop today, but it is likely the bulk of the week’s business will pickup in the back half of the week. 

Boxed beef is mixed at midday on light demand for moderate offerings.  Choice is unchanged at $348.03 and Select is $1.57 lower at $317.83.  The Choice/Select spread is $30.20.
