Direct cash cattle trade activity has been quiet. Bids remain scarce and asking prices are around $125 plus live in the South and $205 dressed in the North. Looking for business to pick up as the day progresses. Today’s Fed Cattle Exchange had an offering of 4,676 head, of which just 578 head sold between $118 to $122.
Boxed beef was weak to lower at midday on light demand for light offerings. Choice is $.07 lower at $347.51 and Select is $1.48 lower at $315.42. The Choice/Select spread is $32.09.
At the Ozarks Regional Stockyards, compared to last week, steer calves were unevenly steady while heifer calves were steady to $4 higher.
