Hot and humid weather along with scattered showers are driving strong crop conditions in Michigan.

Corn condition dropped four points to 73 percent of the crop rated in good to excellent condition. Eighty-seven percent is in the dough stage, 36 percent is dented, and corn silage harvest is just beginning.

Soybeans remained steady at 72 percent good to excellent, with three percent dropping leaves. 

Early harvest of sugarbeets and apples is also underway.
