Ida’s remnants will cross the Tennessee Valley on Tuesday and the central Appalachians and middle Atlantic States by mid-week. The potential for significant flooding exists along and near Ida’s inland path, especially in already saturated areas—such as middle Tennessee—due to additional rainfall totaling 3 to 8 inches or more. Meanwhile, moisture associated with the remnants of eastern Pacific Hurricane Nora will enhance rainfall associated with the Southwestern monsoon circulation. Five-day rainfall totals in the Four Corners States could reach 1 to 4 inches or more, possibly resulting in flash flooding and debris flows.
