Thundershowers will linger through Thursday in hurricane-recovery areas of the central Gulf Coast region, followed by several days of hot, dry weather. Farther west, a cold front interacting with the Southwestern monsoon circulation will remain the focus for scattered to widespread showers and thunderstorms. During the next 2 days, additional rainfall could total 1 to 2 inches or more in the Four Corners States and 1 to 3 inches across portions of the northern and central Plains and western Corn Belt.
