The USDA says national conditions for soybeans improved a little bit on the week, while the rating for corn was modestly lower. Conditions last week were mixed, with much needed rain in some very dry parts of the Midwest and Plains, against hot, dry weather in other areas and excessive post-Ida rainfall in portions of the Eastern Corn Belt and Delta.

As of Sunday, 95% of U.S. corn is at the dough making stage, compared to the five-year average of 94%, 74% has dented, compared to 69% on average, and 21% of the crop is mature, compared to the usual rate of 19%, with 59% of corn rated good to excellent, down 1% on the week.
