Uphoff’s view of 2021 corn harvest

Many Illinois farmers kicked off fall harvest this week. Elliott Uphoff of Shelbyville started on corn Thursday.

“What we started on was planted April 25th, 110-day corn with very good yields so far- over 200 bpa by a good margin. We are just nosing into things, but we are at the home farm in one of our better fields it will be well above our average.”

He says they planted 85% of their beans ahead of corn but there is quite a bit of green in those fields, so it looks like they’ll be harvesting corn for at least 10 days before any of their beans are ready to cut.
