The USDA says hot and dry conditions helped move crops along last week in Ohio.
Seventy percent of the state’s corn crop is in good to excellent condition. Ninety-nine percent of corn is in the dough stage, 84 percent is dented, and 28 percent is mature.
Seventy percent of soybeans are rated good to excellent. Ninety-six percent are setting pods with 30 percent dropping leaves.
Hay and pastures needed more precipitation for regrowth, and fall army worms caused problems in some hay fields.
