The USDA has raised its sorghum production estimate after an increase in the planted area total.
This year’s sorghum crop is now expected to be 454.285 million bushels, up 44.9 million bushels from August following a 13% jump in the planted area total to 7.34 million acres, with an average yield of 69.7 bushels per acre, a month to month decline of 1.1 bushels, and harvested area of 6.52 million acres, also 13% higher than last month.
