The remnants of Nicholas will continue to meander across the South during the next couple of days, delivering additional rainfall totaling 3 to 6 inches or more from the central Gulf Coast region into parts of Florida. Meanwhile, a cold front interacting with tropical moisture should spark locally heavy showers in the Southeast. Farther east, a low-pressure system north of the Bahamas is approaching the middle Atlantic Coast and may become a tropical cyclone later in the week.
