Darrick Steen, Director of Environmental Programs, says that a carbon credit pilot program may offer opportunity for soybean growers to generate revenue and implement conservation practices on their acres. Soil sampling and calculation of carbon credits on growers’ fields are the next step in this program, and Steen hopes that income generated from the selling of credits can be used to help finance sustainable farming practices.
