Kansas’ corn harvest is ahead of last year.
The USDA says corn harvest passed a third complete and is nine percent ahead of last year. The crop is rated 54 percent good to excellent with almost all of it dented.
Soybean harvest is slightly behind at four percent. More than half the crop is dropping leaves and is rated 58 percent good to excellent.
Winter wheat planting is five percent behind last year at 27 percent.
