Heavy rainfall halted most harvest activities across the state, however, drier conditions at the end of the week did allow west Tennessee farmers to get back in the fields.  Armyworms continue to cause problems for some farmers in the state.

According to the USDA, corn is 43% harvested, 90% mature, and 73% rated good to excellent.  The cotton crop has 40% of bolls opening and 68% of the crop is rated good to excellent.  Soybean harvest is behind the average pace with 9% cut, 48% of the crop is dropping leaves, and 75% is rated good to excellent.
