During the next few days, some drought relief should occur. Notably, a multi-day rain event across the central and southern Plains should result in 5-day rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches or more from Texas to eastern Nebraska. Some of that precipitation will extend westward into the Four Corners States, with the greatest amounts (locally 1 to 2 inches) expected in the southern Rockies. In addition, periods of precipitation will affect the Northwest before ending on Thursday.
