Direct cash cattle trade is underway. Live deals in the South are at $124, about steady with last week’s business. There’s some scattered business in parts of Nebraska at $196 dressed, fully steady with last week’s weighted average basis and live deals have also been reported at $123 to $124. Bids in other parts of cattle country are around $122 live. Asking prices are at $125 live in the South and $198 plus dressed in the North. Today’s Fed Cattle Exchange had an offering of 3,350 head with 611 head sold at $124 in Texas and $122.25 in Kansas.
