It’s been a slow start for direct cash cattle trade today following light to moderate trade Wednesday. Asking prices for cattle left on showlists are around $124 to $125 in the South and $199 plus in the North. Scattered trade is expected for today and tomorrow. Beef cutouts are expected to be mixed the rest of the week with light to moderate box movement.

Boxed beef cutout values are lower at midday, choice is $1.22 lower at $296.11 and select is 47 cents lower at $271.31.
